♥ Urgent, please read!

"Dear family and friends,

I’m writing this mail to help save my brother against life-threatening leukemia, the disease has reached a time critical stage where his doctors need to perform a bone marrow transplant as quickly as possible in order to save his life, I have been tested and sadly my HLA typing is not a match to my brother’s bone marrow. My brother (a young man) and many patients (children and adults) in the world are looking to you today to potentially help save their lives.

Bone Marrow Transplant is unlike what the name sounds, it is not a solid organ transplant like the heart, liver kidney, cornea and so forth, it does not require any form of surgery, many people may associate the life saving procedure, with taking a certain part of a bone from a person and giving it to the patient in need, probably because of the term “Bone Marrow Transplant”, however the actual process is more like a matched donor donating a small packet of his/her stem cells (blood) to save a patient’s life.

And Bone marrow donation will ONLY happen, when there is a perfect match (1 over 20,000 to 100,000 of a chance) between a potential donor’s HLA typing to another patient’s HLA typing, and the collection process is very similar to a small packet of blood donation (less than 5% of a person’s stem cells). There are no side effects to bone marrow donations as marrow or stem cells are able to replenish itself just like blood. It is safe, simple, does not bring any harm to your body, it’s relatively painless, and the full cost will be borne by the receiving patient. And many matched donors, both young and old have expressed that it was a positive experience and will gladly do so again, when they learned that their donated marrow has managed to save someone’s life that otherwise have no hope of survival.

As we are fighting against limited time, we are praying earnestly that you will act today to save precious lives;

1) If you are aged 17 to 49, healthy, regardless of gender and blood type, hesitate no more, step into (BMDP) and register yourself as a potential bone marrow donor. What are required are only your contact particulars and a painless cotton bud swap of your inner cheeks (buccal swap) to collect a small sample for matching purposes.

2) Or you can also ask for the buccal kit to be sent to you via post so that you can do it at the flexibility and comfort of your own home, and have it send back the same/next day.

As (BMDP) will consolidate all the submitted kits and send them for testing in batches of hundreds, the logistic process can take up to a month, and many patients(children and adult) who do not have a matched donor are dying as I write. The Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) will only be in touch with you, should you be a perfect match to save someone’s precious life.

I have attached an information brochure and U-tube video introducing the life saving program, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeAPGdcKSGE&feature=player_embedded) More Details can also be found at the website http://www.bmdp.org

We also ask of you to join us in this life saving campaign, by being the contact person of your influence and encouraging all the people within your circles of family and friends, and their circles of family and friends and so forth, to register as a potential life saving donor today. With all our combined efforts and God’s amazing grace and help, we will save more patients’ lives as well as my brother’s.

My family and I expressed our heartfelt thanks to all who are giving a real hope by making a difference today.
Please let us know whatever your decision, if possible, thank you.

In Christ’s Love,
Cher Hao
