♥ Fisheye Lomo Camera 2

Did a post on my first roll of Fisheye Lomo Camera here !

Yeah, such a loser!!! used only 2 rolls after 1 YEAR!!! can someone kill me! lol.. so much for talking nonsense in my previous post, this roll is so terribleeeeeeeee.. i feel so embarrassed to even upload the ugly ones. lol.. and i can't seem to upload the nice ones. HAHA. so i'll update here another time .

I have decided. i will use my Diana F+ flash instead of Fisheye's internal flash from now on - to get rid of that ugly shadow cast by the lens.
I will bring my Fisheye Camera every where i go from tmr onwards! HAHA. (like real, waste my space and waste money to develop sia) HAHA. Ok, bye! OH. i just went to Hokkaido Fair at TM, and bought the 白い恋人 Chocolat Blanc Et Langue De Chat Japanese Cookies. YAY! OK, BYE!

--
25th Jul,
Uploaded on my iPod, some shots!

In Melbourne ..

Starbucks n e card, can't see properly.

Shadow as usual...

Not bad, but defeats e fisheye purpose ..

Dragon playground

Bad. used wrong setting.

--
25 Jul,

found the lomography fisheye website!
really SUPER useful (seems like it...)

“LNB” variable exposure switch
Use this to control your Fisheye 2's shutter timing.
“L” locks the shutter so it can't accidentally fire.
“N” shoots a normal, instant exposure (1/100 sec, f/8).
“B” or “bulb” selects Fisheye 2's long exposure capabilities.

gonna take note of these techniques (sorry la, i'm a noob in these!) -

#1 LAZY JOHN
Night / Long shutter / No Flash / Single Exposure
One for the couch-surfers who prefer a life of fancy leisure. Once the sun goes down, select the “B” setting and hold down the shutter release. As long as you keep it pressed, the shutter will stay open. Place the camera on a steady surface and hold the button for 1 to 5 seconds for crisp, dreamy low-light shots. Move the camera around for wild, streaky, abstract images.

#2 SALTY SINGLE
Night / Long shutter / Internal Flash / Single Exposure
Like the Lazy John, set your camera to “B” at night. Activate the internal flash. Hold down the release for a few seconds while you move, spin, turn, flip, and rotate your camera (or yourself). You’re burning a lot of pretty light onto the film while you do this. After a bit of time has passed, aim your camera at a close subject and release the button. The internal flash will fire – freezing your subject in crisp light against a streaky, gorgeous, and completely bananas background.

#3 CARRIBEAN COLORS (1-2/8)
Night / Long shutter / Internal & Hotshoe Flash / Single Exposure
Hey mon, dis de fiyah yah be wantin! Toss a Lomographic Colorsplash Flash onto the hotshoe – and charge it along with the internal flash. Get your subject in range and fire the shutter on “B.” Immediately, the hotshoe shoots a burst of colored light at them. Keep the shutter open for a few seconds and release to fire the internal flash. With the hotshoe flash firing first and the internal flash firing second, you’ve captured the movement and moodswings between these two points in time.

#6 DIANA'S DREAM (1-2/8)
Day or Night / Long or Fast shutter / Flash or No Flash / Multiple Exposure
Upside down you turning me! Shoot an image straight on and then press the multiple exposure button. Now, staying in the same spot, turn your Fisheye 2 180-degrees and shoot again. It's like one half of the world walked to the other and said “whassup”. Use the internal or hotshoe flash to fire it up even hotter!

now i'm sure you wanna get a Fisheye Lomo Camera! #justsaying

♥ Random - Polaroid Cameras

This is just a random post, just some thoughts that had been in my mind for months.. Please do not get offended, or dun bother reading cos it's a lengthy post.

It's just that, technology really advances so quickly.
I remember one of my biggest regret when i went to Philippines for school trip in 2008, was not owning a Polaroid Camera then. So because of that, i decided to get it after i return to Singapore - proof.
I dun like how everything advances so fast, that the simplicity in life just disappears. I know that i need to grow up, and all these gotta come to past. Ok, i'm just gonna rant in the next few paragraphs and not let my logical mind take over.

Some may think that Facebook is a good way to connect with people, but seriously, how much can it really connect people? I saw a group of my sec sch classmates at TM food court last saturday night, i wasn't close with them in sch in the first place, yet they're on my Facebook list. i dunno, but it just felt so awkward to talk to them. so gotta act blur.

I still prefer e olden days, not that i'm very old.... but writing letters to one another, instead of emailing/sms-ing/whatsapp-ing.. i just feel that my brain is damn useless. not doing anything and depending all on the internet and etc.. You dun have much freedom as before, get it? with people stalking ur Facebook/twitter/blog, where's the sense of privacy? but no matter how much u try to privatize it, does it really help? =/

I dun see how the title of this post links anyway...
Oh, i really really really wish that The Impossible Project will quickly develop films for the authentic Polaroid camera! i don't like to use the films that needs to be stored at 5-21 degrees, or have to cover once you press the shutter, or you still need to keep in some dry kit / silica to store your films. I wish they brought back the original films, but they can't :(
I dun like the ignorance of people who dunno the history of polaroid cameras, yet calling their Fuji Instax Films - the Polaroid Films. yeah, i'm kinda cocky.. but this is the truth, i don't like it! All i can say is, i regretted not buying more films back then to use, haha! also not cheap lor, $18/box of 10 last time!

Now that ev'one's crazy over instant cameras, i shall head over to new green pastures..
Oh, i shall be silly and send letters out to people since i'm also heading to the post office later.. :)

♥ Fisheye lomo camera

Finally used and developed 1 roll of fisheye film, it wasn't as bad as my Diana Mini camera!!!! At least 30/36 films look great on FE but that time only 30 out of 3 rolls look ok... But I found out the mistake and pros and cons of each camera lah.. Anw, pretty sad that the FE flash didn't work as good! Cos there's a shadow being cast upon the bottom right hand of the picture. Bad. Read online on how to prevent in future.. Mainly, keep a distance of 4 to 5 feet. Else tilt 45 degrees more to the right do that shadow will be lower down.. Hmm, gotta try though.. Used the film for more than 6 months! Srsly, why was I so hesitant sia... I missed so many good lomo pictures on my way, can u believe it? Ok, I shall bring my fisheye camera out more often from today onwards! :)

Bridge near home (:

Was at picnic at ECP.. Yummy! Very funny, like how cherhao smiled widely for the camera but can't see his face properly over here!

Celebrated my 21st bday with fav (ex) colleagues at Vivo!

In the car, after celebration of papa's bday! :)

Waiting for the bus after thanksgiving party!

View from the place I was staying in Melbourne! I know, "what?! In Melbourne only take 1 shot?" yeah, almost right..

Guess it's pretty easy to spot them now! I regretted not taking a lot of photos!! Booooo..

♥ Cameras

"I believe skills 10% camera 40% lens 50%" - I seriously can't stop laughing at the person who thought of this! Definitely not me, I'm not dumb to say such things, oops!

Haha, ok.. To clarify the above statement a little, the scenario is like this. Someone brings along his D90 (yes, that DSLR) to a wedding and someone else decided to play and take photos, like a helpful person (it is not me arh..) and so after the actual person who owns the camera (note: I didn't mention any photographer word) uploaded the photos to Facebook, ppl commended like 5 out of 50 over pictures.

And den the helpful person commented smth like some photos she took wasn't bad!

Which was true judging on:
1) the person who owns the camera : his past albums b4 wedding, n even 1 year after the wedding, the photos he taken was really amateur (plus he took up courses b4 leh) n so I believed that he couldn't have taken photos of the better wedding photos..
2) the photos were nicely taken (kinda) was the beginning of the album, whereas the middle to ending sucks to the core :(
3) his understanding of camera is like slightly below average.. (sensitive to use 'low', later sekali like Tin PL's edu n healthcare) is obvious lah. When ppl tell u that u have no story behind ur photos, or share some tips on how to use ur camera, or teaches u some basic concept like background, focus, etc, he either never take heed or tried but failed.

Haha this looks more like I'm criticizing him den gg to the main point.. That helpful person (girl) got ironically shot back! Lol. Cos this person (guy) told her indirectly that it's not because she can take good photos, but it's the camera which does most work! By telling her that 10% skill 40% camera 50% lens means what sia! If the outcome of the photo is based 90% on e combination of camera and lens w 10% skills, I think I will wanna go manufacture camera bodies and lenses since photographers will cfm plus chop buy to be the best photographer lah! No logic right, that theory!

I dun play or own any DSLRs, but only those instant and films cameras. I still suck at Diana mini camera, but at least I still try! Film camera is different from DSLR, I still need to develop them n probably forget my mistakes after the photos are ready. whereas the latter is digital n you can spot ur mistakes like almost instantly! (better than a Polaroid lo!) at least I know what's basic framing, headroom, iris, gain, iso, white balacing, mf af of a camera! So I also know what is required when u take a photo.
Another thing I hear from ppl who takes photographs is that a software to edit photos is very important! If photo-taking skills sucks, improve on Photoshop skills!

I've learnt from these that
1) camera or lens aren't as important yet if u are still an entry level photo-taking lover. Can buy a basic first den slowly invest in the extra stuffs lah..
2) why buy a DSLR? Show off, take scenary shots, ppl close up shots, typical ppl group shots?! Get it clear first before buying it! I see ppl holding DSLR and den taking those photos which a DSLR is too good for, get it?
3) go for photo taking courses if u think ur photo sucks! No money or time? Den go library and borrow photography books and magazines! Like pls do, there are countless no of photography books you can find in bookshops too! Invest in these lah.
4) learn some photo editing skills! At least this could help to either cover up some flaws, add beauty to the photo or at least look more presentable ..
5) I watched a couple of YouTube video about 'Professional using Cheap cameras" and "noobs using professional cameras"
Basically an average woman played ard with d3s and her shots started improving cos she uds e concept and what to look out for. Yes, a better camera is just a bonus plus points.
Professional photographers using IPhone 3, minolta cameras! But their photos came out so chio lah! So this lies down to.... SKILL! 10% skills? I think 110% skills lor!
